BRENDAN TIERNEY
Qualifications and Membership:
- Bachelor of Agribusiness (Hons), Curtin University.
Business Area: In his role as a consultant, Brendan covers the following business areas;
- Farm Business Analysis - Analysis of the physical and financial aspects of farm business performance from year to year.
- Strategic Planning - Assisting with setting and pursuing family and business goals for the short and long term.
- Cashflow Planning and Management - Cashflow budgeting for year to year farming operations through to proposals for property purchases and leases.
- Grain Marketing - General advice regarding grain marketing alternatives.
Background:
Brendon grew up on the family farm at Bindi Bindi. After completing his degree at Muresk, Brendon joined Planfarm and eventually moved to Wongan Hills where he provided consulting services to clients in that region (as well as areas to the West and East).
In April 2006, Brendon moved back to the family farm at Bindi which has allowed him to have a more active involvement in the day to day operation of the farm business. Brendon continues to work at Planfarm on a part time basis consulting to clients in a region East and West of Wongan Hills.
Brendon has found that the farming and consulting roles complement each other well.
Interests:
Brendon has a keen interest in agriculture and enjoys learning about all aspects of the farm business and the industry in general.
Sporting interests include cricket, golf and anything else that involves a bat and ball. Brendon is a member of the Fremantle Dockers and enjoys watching the games however his own footy boots have now been colonised by the local spiders.
