GRAEME McCONNELL

Qualifications and Membership:

  • Member AAAC WA (Agricultural Consultants Association of Western Australia).
Business Area: In his role as a Consultant Director, Graeme covers the following areas;

  • General Farm Management
  • Farm Business Advice - practical whole farm management, financial analysis, problem solving and business planning.
  • Valuation - Graeme is a licensed property valuer, specialising in broadacre rural properties in Western Australia
  • Business analysis - taking the physical and financial data from farm businesses and analysing this at key performance points to assist in the development of the business.
  • Budgeting - projecting future cashflows to enable farmers to have a "business map" from which they can operate.
  • Benchmarking - collating the data for various clients from similar rainfall areas and comparing the performance of individual farms.
  • Property purchases & leases - financial analysis and projections relating to purchasing or leasing land.
  • Strategic Planning - assisting farmers to develop long term plans from which they can make strategic business decisions.
  • Grain Marketing - provides general information
Background:

Graeme is from a farming family and maintains an active interest in the family farming business in Dandaragan, Western Australia.

After studying Graeme joined BankWest (Then R&I Bank) as a rural consultant and spent the next eight years working throughout much of WA although mostly through the Central, Eastern and Northern wheatbelts. Graeme's role with BankWest included training new rural managers, assisting with larger and more complex client businesses, assisting those businesses with financial difficulties, and property valuation. Graeme was also the driving force behind the design of the "BankWest Benchmarks" - client analysis that provided clients feedback on their production and business performance.

Graeme joined Planfarm in 1999 and has been working with clients in the Central and Eastern wheatbelt since that time.

Interests:

Farming, family and the occasional flight of a model aeroplane.

PETER SCOTT

Qualifications and Membership:

  • Securities Institute ps146 Tier 1 Advisor Accreditation (Derivatives) 2004
  • Diploma of Agriculture - Muresk - (Curtin University)
  • Certificate in Agriculture (Honors) - Narrogin Agricultural College
  • Associate member of AAAC WA

The foundation of the Managed Client Service is that information is not only presented to the client, but it is interpreted and used to develop strategic marketing decisions based on their individual needs.

Peter will work closely with you to understand your objectives and develop selling strategies to progress toward these objectives. To meet these steps a broad range of products and marketing options will be utilized. While the core of the service is to develop and implement individual pricing strategies the service can include the following:

  • Understanding your marketing objectives and developing strategic marketing decisions.
  • Increasing price certainty using hedging in cash and derivative markets.
  • Timely strategy implementation.
  • Position sheets on request.
  • Discounted cash brokerage.
  • Education.
  • Publications.
  • Unlimited phone contact time including a more proactive service.
  • Cash and futures brokerage desks.
Background:

Peter has managed farms in the Bridgetown and Lake Grace areas during the eighties, and then moved into the Agriculture Protection Board with the Weeds branch and later as a Regional Manager in the Kimberley and Geraldton areas.

The move into becoming an independent grain marketing advisor was driven by a desire to provide totally independent grain pricing advice to a smaller group of dedicated growers.

Interests:

Sailing with family to the Abrolhos Islands when time permits or racing the yacht on the ocean.

Background:


Audrie has many years experience with the agricultural industry. She worked as office administrator and senior sampler for the CBH Group in the 80's before moving to Mullewa where she jointly owned and managed a Wesfarmers Agency. Prior to joining Planfarm Audrie spent 10 years with the Grain Pool in a number of sections including Seed Commercialisation whilst concurrently serving as Executive Officer for the WA Seed Growers Association, Research & Development, Grower Services as Contracts Administrator and Regional Manager based in Northam.

Audrie made the move to Planfarm in May 2008, as Grain Marketing Advisor, prompted by a keen desire to provide totally independent grain marketing advice to a committed group of growers.

Interests:

Audrie enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoys a variety of hobbies and recreational pursuits which include spinning and knitting, sailing - whether it be on the Swan, the ocean off the WA coast or the Adriatic and tennis and walking, with the aim of generally keeping fit - although in moments of madness has been known to swim to Rotto and run from City to Surf.
